The function of the filter element of the air compressor is to feed the oil-bearing compressed air generated by the main engine into the cooler, mechanically separate it into the oil-gas filter element for filtration, intercept and polymerize the oil mist in the gas, and form oil droplets concentrated at the bottom of the filter element and returned to the air compressor lubrication system through the oil return pipe, so that the air compressor can discharge more pure and high-quality compressed air. Simply speaking, it is a device to remove solid dust, oil and gas particles and liquid substances in compressed air. Air compressor filter element includes air filter, oil filter, oil separator and precision filter element. Oil-gas separation filter element is the key component to determine the quality of compressed air discharged from oil injection screw air compressor. Under the correct installation and good maintenance, the quality of compressed air and the service life of filter element can be ensured.
The air compressed from the head of the main engine of the screw air compressor carries oil droplets with different sizes. The large oil droplets are easy to separate through the oil-gas separation tank, while the small oil droplets (suspended) must be filtered through the micron-sized glass fiber filter material of the oil-gas separation filter element. Choosing the diameter and thickness of glass fiber correctly is an important factor to ensure the filtration effect. After the oil mist is intercepted, diffused and polymerized by the filter material, the small oil droplets quickly aggregate into large oil droplets, which pass through the filter layer and settle at the bottom of the filter element under the action of pneumatic and gravity. These oils continuously return to the lubrication system through the inlet of the oil return pipe in the bottom recess of the filter element, so that the air compressor can discharge relatively pure and high-quality compressed air.
